The process involve applying dye resist bindings to thread in patterns. The bindings are applied to produce striking patterns once the threads are dyed. The area that was bound doesn’t catch the dye and a pattern emerges on the thread. Then the thread is woven on the loom to create a beautiful pattered Ikat textile
